Where to go in and around Medan City

North Sumatera is not only nature-based destination of tourism, it is also worth of visiting because of its cultural as well as historical heritage. The City of Medan should be the first spot to set foot, once you landed here, there are many tourist objects around to see :

The Great Mosque Medan.  The location of the Grand Mosque is in Jalan Masjid Raya. The mosque is adjacent to Kolam Raya Medan can be reached by vehicle buses, mini buses, taxis and rickshaws. The historical heritage of the Sultanate of Deli was built in 1905 and is one of the most beautiful mosques in Indonesia.

State Museum of North Sumatra. It is located ij Jalan H.M. Jhoni (red market). This museum can be reached by vehicle buses, mini buses, taxis and rickshaws. The museum keeps prehistoric relics, numismatic, foreign ceramics, art, archeology, geology, ethnography, and others.

Museum Perjuangan Bukit Barisan. Location : JL.H.JAINUL ARIFIN. This museum is a national monument in her there is a collection of war supplies and so on.

Tjong A Fie Mansion. Tjong A Fie Mansion is located in Jalan Ahmad Yani and listed among the cultural heritages protected by the law in Medan City. Tjong A Fie was the wealthiest man in the era of the Dutch Administration and was appointed as the “Chinese Kapitan” in this area. He established Bank of Kesawan. The Mansion was built in 1900 and still stand until now. Tjong A Fie passed away in 1926 that mourned so many people as he did philanthropic activity in his life time. He donated all of his wealth to all who needed regardless of religion, ethnic and origin.

Rahmat International Wildlife Museum & Gallery. Rahmat International Wildlige Museum & Galery is an interesting destination in Medan that occupy a plot of land at Jalan S.Parman No.309. It keeps 1000 species of various countries This museum was established by Rahmat Shah, a professional hunter and nature lover. He won many international recognitions such as Big Five Grand Slam Awards and World Hunting Awards. An admission fee applies in this gallery.

The Medan zoo.  Location: JL.Brigjend Katamso. In this zoo there are several types of animals that come from Indonesia and abroad.

Medan Fair. Location: Jl Gatot Subroto. This area is a recreation center where there are children's toys, restaurant, hall, bowling and open stage.

Crocodile Park Asam Kumbang. Location: Kampung Asam Kumbang, sub-district Tuntungan Medan.This area can be reached byum is  bus vehicle .mini buses and taxis .In this place there are approximately 1,500 crocodiles with ages ranging from 1 to 20 years, as well as its various other attractions. 
 
The House of Bolon. Location: 138 miles from the city of Medan.This area can be achieved with the vehicle bus and taxi , mini bus . The house of Bolon is a big building of Simalungan formerly serves as a royal palace.

Batak Muzeum. Location: Jalan Pagar Batu No.88, Silalahi Village, Balige City, Balige Sub-district, Toba Samosir Regency, North Sumatera. The muzeum was built by Gen. (R) TB. Silalahi and openned officially on January 18, 2011 by Presiden RI SBY. It keeps an array of cultural and historical items related to Batak people in North Sumatera.
