No wander that Indonesia is also called as a necklace of equatorial emeralds .  with such an extensive coasline, Indonesia boasts as one of the longest coastlines in the world. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism, the country's coastline stretches for approximately 54,716 kilometers (34,000 miles), which is indeed one of the longest coastlines in the world. According to Wikipedia, the fourth longest in the world with over 80,000 kilometers (50,000 miles). Indonesia is home to some of the most stunning beaches in the world. Visit Pink Beach, Komodo National Park, Lombok.


When visiting Komodo National Park, Pink Beach is considered a "must" natural attractions on Komodo Island to stop by.It is called  Pink Beach because it's pink sands on the beach. However, local people prefer to call it Red Beach, and while the foreign tourists prefer to call it Pink Beach. The sand is pink and very soft it will appear more clearly when the sand is swept away by the waves.

The attractions of this area is not only the pretty beach, but underwater life also offers a stunning beauty and natural wealth to dive. In the Pink Beach itself, there are a lot of marine life that includes 1500 species of fish, 250 species of coral, and approximately 75 species sponges. Therefore, snorkeling or diving is an activity that should not be bypassed by tourists while visiting this beautiful beach.

How to get to the Pink Beach? The first destination you should go is Labuan Bajo. And to get to Labuan Bajo itself, you can reach it through three channels, namely the sea, land and air. By the sea, you can take a sea vessels from Tanjung Benoa, Bali heading to Labuan Bajo with travel time less than about one day trip. Over land, you can take a bus from Denpasar, Bali to Labuan Bajo and then across the sea with ferry.

The fastest way to get the beach is by air.You can fly either directly to Labuhan Bajo, or indirectly by stopping over Denpasar, Bali. Starting from October 21,2016 Garuda Indonesia Airways, the national flag carrier, officially opened  a direct flight six times a week to Labuhan Bajo (except Saturday).  Flights from Jakarta to Labuan Bajo is scheduled to depart from Jakarta at 10:05 pm and will arrive in Labuan Bajo at 13:35 pm. While Labuan Bajo-Jakarta is scheduled to depart from Labuan Bajo at 14.15 pm and will arrive in Jakarta at 15:25 pm. But if you missed it, you could stop over Denpasar, Bali before departing for Labuan Bajo.

To marine enthusiasts, the best way of enjoying the exoticism of Komodo National Parks is by leisurely traveling among the scattered islands by boats or live-aboard travel. Imagined, while living on board, you would be cruising to  enjoy a beautiful seascape surrounding the Komodo National Park,then stopped by Pink Beach and then get ashored for outdoor activities like snorkeling, or strolling along the beach.
