Let's Enjoy the New Look of TMII to Celebrate the New Year 2025.

  Presiden Joko widodo on  1st September 2023 officially launched a revitalisation project  of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). It was hoped that the public can enjoy and visit the new face of TMII which is neat, greener, more beautiful and more comfortable. The new look  returned the initial masterplan of TMII, namely 70 percent green open space and 30 percent buildings. The project emphasizes environmentally friendly concept by extending green zone area and adopting low-gas emissions vehicles. Pancasila Building is a historic building located in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is located in the Foreign Affairs Ministry Complex, Jalan Taman Pejambon No.6.  Pancasila refers to a speech delivered by Soekarno in the building when he explained the concept of Pancasila, a philosophical concept that became the foundation of the Indonesian nation, on June 1, 1945. 
 
Built in the early 1830s, this building is one of many colonial landmarks of the 20th century. 
19th in Jakarta. it witnessed the historical journey of Republic of Indonesia from the VOC times, the Dutch colonisation, the Japanese occupation of Indonesia, and the rise of Indonesian people for its indepence. 
 
The Pancasila Building currently belongs to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.It is more often used for important ceremonies and international activities held by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Pancasila Building was originally a plot of land located in the Weltevreden neighborhood. It was only on March 6, 1697, that Cornelis Chastelein acquired a plot of land on the east side of Bovenstad (Upper City), which is now in the eastern part of Medan Merdeka.

Then, in the 1830s, construction began on a building that functioned as a residence for Governor General Benhard Herzog van Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach, Commander in Chief of the Royal Dutch Armed Forces in the Dutch East Indies.

The location of this luxurious Neoclassical Empire style building was previously located on Jalan Hertog or Duke's Way. Where the name Hertog was taken from the name of the governor's commander.

The building is dominated by white. Where at the front, many large and sturdy pillars stand. There are also tall windows and hanging lights that surround the entire building. The architectural design was made by Ir. J. Tromp. Huib Akihary's narrative.

Then in 1918-1941, the building changed its function as the headquarters of the Volksraad or People's Council which was created based on the laws of the Dutch East Indies government. After the independence period, in the early 1950s, this building was transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and then to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its name was changed to Gedung Pancasila on June 1, 1964.
