  Presiden Joko widodo on  1st September 2023 officially launched a revitalisation project  of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). It was hoped that the public can enjoy and visit the new face of TMII which is neat, greener, more beautiful and more comfortable. The new look  returned the initial masterplan of TMII, namely 70 percent green open space and 30 percent buildings. The project emphasizes environmentally friendly concept by extending green zone area and adopting low-gas emissions vehicles. How the Christmas and New Year Holiday in Jakarta Going To Be?

TMII Closes 3 Days on 25, 31 December 2020, 1 January 2021.

To protect the community as well as to control Covid-19, the DKI Jakarta government will implement a strict control policy until the closure of public places during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Strict controls and closure of public facilities will be carried out for three days on 25, 31 December 2020, and 1 January 2021.

As a substitute, the DKI Government has advised residents of the capital to take advantage of this holiday period by doing activities at home only. "There are many alternative fun activities that can be done, for example by taking a virtual tour, attending a virtual cultural arts festival, or doing other activities with the family."

As for the areas that apply strict control and closure in Central Jakarta, there are 26 locations, East Jakarta 31 locations, West Jakarta 8 locations, North Jakarta 11 locations, South Jakarta 15 locations, and the Thousand Decree 3 locations.

Central Jakarta, for example, has a number of public facilities that are subject to strict controls on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman-Thamrin, Hotel Indonesia roundabout and others. While the locations that are closed include the National Monument area, Jalan Medan Merdeka, all RPTRAs and parks in Central Jakarta.

As for South Jakarta, locations that are subject to strict controls include the Antasari Area, the Kemang Area, and the Senopati Area. Meanwhile, locations that are closed include the Ayodya Park area, the Bulungan area, and the Mahakam area.
