What the Survey Found on Adventure Travel.

 The Indonesia adventure travel trade association recently hold a series of Website Seminar on "Reviving Indonesian tourism through adventure tourism". The seminar a number of figures including Amalia Yunita, the Secretary General of Indonesia Adventure Travel Trade Association (IATTA). She described the findings of Adventure Travel Survey conducted by Advanture Travel Trade Association (ATTA) from January to February 2020. 

It highlighed some important clues on how to bring back tourism industry of Indonesia in the aftermath of Covid 19 pandemic. In term of gender, the seminar revealed that women prefer to do adventure travel than men. It turns out that adventure tourism clients are more gendered than women. Whether it's solo or group. 

As indicated that adventure tourism enthusiasts are dominated by those aged 45 years and over, as much as 80 percent. At that age, people have entered an established age, already have money. Adventure travel is not something cheap to buy. 

Based on the data presented, adventure tourists aged between 45 to 54 years have a percentage of 34.9 percent, and tourists aged 55 to 64 years are at 44.6 percent. When compared to those under 45 years old, adventure tourists are about 18 to 24 years old, only has 3.6 percent. Meanwhile, 25 to 34 year old tourists who are anxious about adventure travel are only 4.8 percent. For tourists over 65 years, only 2.4 percent are fond of adventure travel.

The seminar recommended that adventure tourism equipment sellers prepare special products for women. In the IATTA data presented, there are ten ways for adventure tourists to get information on their vacation  destination. Out of the ten methods, word of mouth or mouth to mouth is in the first rank.

Most adventure travelers go somewhere on a recommendation. that's why service is the most important point. Apart from word of mouth, there is also cooperation with travel operators and adventure travel agents, advertisements on Google, tour events, online tour operators, and sales via email.

In term of adventure traveler types, each continent represents a different type. For the Asian continent, more tourists travel with groups. because, the majority of tourists from Asia come from China where they are known to prefer to travel in groups. But in other places, Europe and South America, they travel more with their partners.
