Between two continents and two oceans is the island nation of Indonesia. More than 250 million people live in Indonesia, across more than 17,000 islands, big and small ones. Connecting the archipelago, Infrastructure and transportation systems are crucially needed in this vast country including air transportation system such as air ports to distribute goods, services including supporting human mobility.
According to the website of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation, there are 340 airports spreading across all provinces in Indonesia consisting of Class I, Class III, Work Units. 32 of them are in the international category.
The following is a list of 32 international airports in Indonesia, which are managed by the Indonesia'Arm Forces, the Directorate General of Air Relations/Regional Government, and PT Angkasa Pura I and II (state owned Airport):
